Bio :   My first thrill involving horses began at around the age of 8. When my dad decided to loan out his saddle horse for the summer months to a riding stable, so that he could in turn get to choose a pony for me to use for 2 months.

My pick was a very sweet Welsh pony named Rusty. She must have been up there in age. Didnít matter to me. She came complete with bridle and saddle. I remember my uncle would help saddle her up for me and then her and I would proceed around our farm. Walk, trot, and maybe canter? She was my first introduction to Resistance Free. God bless the kind loving hands that trained her. Her care and concern for my safety, and her willingness to please is beyond mention, she left an indelible impression on me.

So many horses came and went thru our farm as the years passed. I was very active with membership in our local 4-H group, the United States Pony Club , participated in our town parades, and competed at local horse shows and gymkhanas.

When I became a parent I recognized the gifts I received thru exposure to the horse , the bond, the trust, communication skills, reading body language and teamwork , just to mention a few. I learned this so amazingly thru horse ownership and management. I knew that I wanted to pass this unique experience on to my children.

So the circle continued and my girls shared experiences growing up on a farm with horses that helped shape who they are today. Their horse expertise broadened their horizons both in the show ring, with relationships and on thru adulthood to successful careers.

At the present time my husband and I own and operate a natural graze horse boarding and training facility where we care for over 25 horses. The horses consist of all different disciplines, breeds, and personalities. We also harvest and sell our own hay locally.

I primarily used my years of first hand knowledge and experience to get me by. But after attending a horse expo in Springfield Mass. , where Richard Shrake was a clinician, I became re-inspired and decided to attend one of his 4 day clinics. It was at the clinic, I realized my dream to learn more about Resistance Free training and committed to enroll in Richards Instructor certification program. I highly recommend his techniques to anyone with their horses best interests in mind and you will learn his Winning Ways.
